What Lantern costs
Prices in US dollars. Lantern is sold by Blue Camel Consulting LLC, a New York limited liability company. Questions to support@lantern.family.
The short version
One plan, one price. $79 a year for the first 250 families, then $99 a year. Up to four children. You are charged when you subscribe and refunded in full if you ask within 30 days. There are no tiers, no add-ons, and no monthly option.
The founding price
The first 250 families to subscribe pay $79 a year. After that the price is $99 a year. A founding family keeps $79 at every renewal for as long as its subscription runs without a break.
It is a yearly subscription: charged today, and again a year from today, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked on the refunds page, and the year you already paid for runs to its end. Sales tax is added where it applies. The charge shows on your card statement as LANTERN.FAMILY.
Lantern is sold in the United States only for now.
What paying buys
Your subscription pays for your children's library to keep growing:
- The nightly sweep and discovery for each of your children.
- New videos admitted to the wall.
- The review queue filling with new finds.
What never stops
A child's tablet does not go dark because a card expired. Whether or not your subscription is current:
- The wall serves what it already has.
- Playback of already-approved videos.
- The parent's ability to remove a video or a child.
- Deletion and export.
If your subscription lapses, the library simply stops growing until it is current again. Nothing your child already has is taken away.
The beta is free
Families in the beta pay nothing while the beta runs. A family that is already in when paid plans start stays free through December 31, 2026, and is asked before anything changes. The beta agreement still applies.
Your own keys
Adding your own Gemini or YouTube key in settings is neither a discount nor a premium. It is free, encouraged, and it moves your child's page to the front of the screening line. See how Lantern decides.
Refunds
30 days, no questions asked. After that, a prorated refund on request. The whole promise is on the refunds page.
Subscribing opens a secure checkout run by Stripe. Use the same email address as your Lantern account so the payment can be matched to your family.
